You need to take her to the vets and get a bottle of Frontline spray. It's the only really effective treatment for small kittens and the kitten won't like it, but you can use it from 2 days old and you work out how many sprays you use based on their weight.
The 'pet shop' quality flea treatments are not really effective anyway to be honest, so as she grows up you can buy Frontline spot on from an online supplier, but the spray is prescription only, so there's no real alternative to the vets I'm afraid.
If you've had the kitten in your home for 48 hours with fleas before getting treatment then you'll probably also need to get some home spray for fleas whilst you're there. There's no point in getting anything from a pet shop to treat your home, they are pointlessly ineffective. One decent treatment of everywhere that the kitten has been in 48 hours may not actually take that long, but it's important that you eradicate the fleas that she may already have dropped all over your home properly.
EDIT- your vet may also suggest one of the kitten weight spot ons, but with just one kitten these often turn out to be a bit of a waste because you can only use half the packet before they grow too much to use the rest.

I have exchanged home and the family before left the carpets they had a cat and a dog, and I have been overun with fleas on my dogs I can't believe it. I have sprayed the house and also frontlined the dogs I have 3. Next week it will be time to do them again, I am really surprised as before my dogs were not troubled with fleas I wonder if these are fleas from the cat, it's been a nightmare and I will do it monthly until I have a foothold on the problem.

I think its cause ats tend to get into tighter spots and mingle around other cats if you get what i mean they get int more places than a dog can....
i used a spot on with george a few months ago to get rid of worms and fleas luckily he has no signs on fleas and with Jake cause he was really young i just bought him a flea collar and he hasnt got any signs either and they are both always out on the back garden. Saying that neither of them go very far at all when out.

Flea bombs are good , we use them even though we have no fleas in our home but as a precaution, all our animals are up to date frontlined, so this just protects our home incase.
