Does anyone shred paper for bedding for their animals .. rabbits in particular?
I'm taking Luna and Benji to a boarder who uses this in her cages. Ive never experienced it before .. it's a good idea if it's safe, but what if they eat it? Inky poo!?
Not sure whether to take a supply of their bedding with me when they go on their holidays ..

I got a huge bail from Lottie on here. About £12 and it will last me about 6 months I should think. My rats love it, although they also love building nests from it and I find it stuffed in the strangest places. Dust free though, and I have noticed an improvement in odour over the paper based cat litter that I used previously.
The ink on the newspaper is safe none toxic made from vegy oils the paper itself is also ideal if digested should,nt cause problems.
Only problems ive found with shreded paper is if they have had a operation and been shaved. But thats only if its like A4 documents etc it can cause burn marks and paper cuts with it being not as soft. Not only that you never know if they have removed any stapples specaily if it comes from other people I use a powerfull magnet through it once laid in hutchers etc if its not what i have shredded .Anyway newspaper is spot on.
I use shredded paper in the hot weather for my bunnies...seems a lot cooler than loads of wood shavings for them. However just put a thin layer of wood shavings down to soak up any excess pee
