Most vacated properties these days have the heating drained and gas capped so really needs recommissioning before assessing......unless the property is still occupied of course

Spoke to the op and they want a full safety safety check on boiler,cooker and fire and a report I have priced this at £80 If anyone can do this for less I'm sure the op would be more than happy to haggle. unfortunately I run a Highly professional plumbing and heating company not a market stall so therefore the price quoted is the price .

Sounds more like she needs a report similar to a landlords certificate. I pay £90 for mine but do get a boiler service chucked in.

It is surprising how many people buying houses want tradesmen to call round and give quotes and reports but for free. If a report can get £000's or £0000's knocked of the price it is worth paying for.

A lot of people are looking on the Forum for people to do a professional job for virtually nothing. We try to keep our rates reasonable, bearing in mind we have wages to pay, machines to run, equipment to replace. To say nothing of the tax we have to pay.

Well done guys.....£80 is still a decent price for a full heating report.......even then theres not much profit when you've travelled there, spent an hour or so checking 3 appliances over plus spending time writing a report up.

Try and persuade a building surveyor to do a structural report for £80 and see what they say.........

If system is full/working £80 is competitive....if it needs filling (inhibitor), checking, commissioning, rads balanced etc, etc then it becomes very cheap.

We also charge £90.00,
but will now charge the same as the rest of you guys,
£80.00 but as above we will also service the boiler,unless
of couse it is a back boiler which will be a little extra.
