Alright everybody,

since arranging the Owls v Reds match in aid of Sheffield Forum FC, we have decided to take this a step further. Proposed is a Owls v Blades Family Fun Day all to raise money for the Sheffield Childrens Hospital.

I have contacted SWFC and SUFC who are very keen to attend, the council has said we can have a park for this event although we are keen to use another place I have contacted. I have fundraising form from Childrens Hospital and sent various emails off in last 2 days to finalise some things.

Provisional date for this would be 26th June, Saturday.

On the day:
Kids 5-7 Owls v Blades
Kids 8-10 Owls v Blades
Kids 11-13 Owls v Blades
Kids 14-16 Owls v Blades
Adult Owls v Blades

Girls Owls v Blades Rounders match
Owls v Blades Bowls (possibly split into 2 or 3 age ranges)

General fund raising throughout the day including spot the ball and other small activities.

This along with very likely possible attendance from Owls and Blades players/staff would make this an excellent event and hopefully raise lots of money to be handed over to the hospital.

To take part in the activities, a minimum donation of £5 adults and £3 children should be a very good start to raising a good amount. If people think this is too much, please dont keep quiet as others may think the same, just remember....its all for charity!

This thread is for gauging interest.

Please indicate on the poll whether you or your children/nieces/nephews etc would like to take part in this. Age ranges could slightly change depending on numbers and other activities could be added.

As I have said, we already have confirmation for use of a Council Park and spoken on the phone to Sheffield United FC along with holding details for registering the event with TCH.

Any questions, just ask!!

Cheers

Should be, maybe more generally spread out attendance instead of just involving the football team.

Its fun for all kids, even now thinking a the under 5s could maybe use a mini part of grass but that could be difficult.

Either way, add your interest!

Ok further developments on this up to now.

After much deliberation, I believe the 26th of June is too close to get everything in place. Therefore, I have looked into dates and now the most likely date to be used is Sunday 1st August. Neither SWFC or SUFC have friendlies that day and I await confirmation from them of the date.

I also have a meeting next week with a venue rather than just a park. I am hopeful this venue will allow us use for the day. Also following a meeting with our club sponsors, Mosborough Hall, they are also very interested in this and will look into running something of their own giving away what they can through the hotel. This could be a TOP prize! Confirmation of this will come when more is set.

The change of date allows me extra time to get things into place and reduces the risk of having to rush everything/everyone and getting something totally wrong!

Still, I am very suprised more people are not interested in bringing their little ones or even the elderly for the Bowls match! Is it date? Due to nothing in concrete yet? Money? If your reading this thinking great idea...then post up. If you're thinking "pffft...give that a miss!" then please tell me why, by post of PM. It will be appreciated and help me get this out more.

SF is getting up to date news on this whereas everybody else will find out late next month when it appears in local papers, schools, SCH website etc.

Thanks

Yeah we will hopefully have few small flyers and posters that we can print off. Rather not go through paying a company for some. Could also put it online for people to download themselves if they can.

Luckily, Mosborough Hall have a lot of contacts, including the Star, various schools etc so once the date is set in concrete with club attendance, we'll get straight on the poster/artwork for the event. At the minute, just talking to 4 different parties about it and having to go between each one. All up for it, but clubs have to check availability of players for certain dates before committing to anything.

Mosborough Hall was very interested in this idea, they was prepared to give us abit of publicity for the event through the hotel i.e newspaper, press releases etc etc

Ok since my other post I can now say we are looking into having cheer leaders present, Cake stalls, food and drink on site, face painting and possibly dancers to entertain between/during matches for some.

Any other interest let me know, meeting on Tuesday will possible venue and I am taking everything with me for this to put to them. Ill inform everyone as I find out more.

As masons says, helpers will probably be needed too, once I know what they will be needed on, Ill put it up.
