Hi,

My dad bought me a pair of GHDs for Christmas in 2008. They have started beeping constantly recently and aren't working properly. They are still under warranty with GHD but I need to send them back with the receipt. Me and my dad have fallen out since then so I can't get the receipt back and i'm not sure if he has even kept it.

Does anybody know anywhere I can get them fixed? I've seen some websites which claim to fix them and send them back but i'm a bit nervous about sending them off to an unknown place.

Can anybody help?

Thanks

I would advise you send them back to GHD....if you get them repaired anywhere else you risk loosing your warranty. Use the link above and you shouldn't have a problem. You don't even need your receipt as your GHD's have a unique code on the inside of them that will show when they were purchased. I had the same problem about a year ago and I sent mine off to be repaired.....they couldn't repair them but they sent me a brand new set so I was pretty happy!!! Give it a go.....Good luck!

Just be careful with sending them back to GHD my partner bought some off an actual hairdresser and these became faulty. Sent to GHD only to be told they were fakes. They also wanted to prosecute the seller. Not saying yours are fake though.

Thanks everyone.

I spoke to GHD and explained the situation and they said to send them anyway because that particular styler were still under warranty as they weren't released until Christmas 2008 So I sent them Special Delivery yesterday.

p-and-d - thats really bad I can't believe hairdressers of all places would sell fakes, I registered mine on the website when I got them just to make sure they weren't fake so hopefully they will be able to fix them for me.

Thanks again.

I don't want to sound rude when I say this but I am fully aware life is short, however without understanding the situation between me and my dad it is impossible for you pass a comment like that. Trust me, if I could fix things with my dad and have things back to the way they used to be then I would but sometimes life isn't that simple or straightforward...

hope you have better luck than my daughter she bought some for my grandaughter 30th march for her birthday 5th april after useing them 4 times they started to make a hissing noise my daughter contacted ghd and returned them in in full working order apart from the hissing sent in the packageing they supplied, only to get a letter stating that they were not working when they recieved them and said they were damaged wire hanging out, plug hanging off ,chips on them and that they would repair them at a cost of £55 my daughter was not at all happy and asked them to return them to her in the original packageing to claim from the post office for damage at which they said they had not got the packaging, after numerous calls and trying to get a claim with the post office ghd agreed to send her another pair for £25 she accepted this offer as ghd were being of no help at all ,but still is not satisfied how ghd treat her so do not believe all you read on the guarantee.

Just an update, GHD have just rang and said they can't repair mine and as they don't make that edition anymore they will replace mine with a different pair. They gave me a choice of 4 different stylers and they are dispatching them today. I'm really happy with that so thanks for your help everyone!

I think it is something to do with drying hair, but what would I know, as one who polished his head!

There's another thread in code too, 'buy as you view'. hmmm.

they are hair straighteners - poss the best on the market. GHD are very good at replacing or repairing if they go wrong as long as they are not fakes.
