What do you think.. are we being corrupted by money?. What with the Lotto, euro millions, scratch cards and the like, is the desire for money controlling and corrupting us?.. do we now worship the materialistic life.. has money become the new god?. Are wars, poverty, famine merely a bi-product of mankinds desire for money.

Then there's the ever increasing tax rises and living costs which are increasing the majority of the masses desire to obtain money, sometimes by less than honourable means.

So what do you think, is it a mere commodity to make life more comfortable.. or a man made god designed to corrupt.?

I would go with the latter. Life would be much better if we only traded in labour/ cattle/ land/ food etc., actual useful resources, instead of bits of paper.

Like knives, money is not inherently evil. It's what people do for/with it that counts.

Agreed, niether of them could be considered inherently evil, although I imagine for the majority of us, the desire to obtain money stirs the emotions for greater than the desire to obtain a knife, therefore I wouldn't say knives have a controlling or corrupting influence.. unlike money.

I would rather be paid with gold than the worthless illuminati pulp we get given as pay. A time ago you could exchange the note for Sterling Silver, but not no more, to prove its worthlessness it even says "I promise to pay the bearer the sum" on all notes now. so basically you can change it for a different worthless note or coin even, which still is of no significant value.

Eye! It may appear that I overstand those whom wish us to still understand.

But wouldn't comfort be relative?.. It's usually those that have money that desire it the most.

Money is as bad as religion, causing too many unwarranted arguments and uneeded heartache.

Makes me wonder what would happen if money was abolished.... maybe things would finally start to improve?
