So I am wanting to know what size women men prefer, it is for some work I am doing.
I think a size 12 is a nice size for a women speaking for myself as a women.
I am a ten but want to gain weight so I am a 12, I hate being too thin.
I think anything below a ten is too thin and often makes people look ill.
My hubby always says when he see's women that size that he don't like it.
So come on guys tell us what size women you prefer....

A healthy size I guess would be my answer, but it depends so much on where women get their clothes from, to put a number on it.
Some shops have dubious sizeing, to add a "feel good" factor. Remember when Vanessa Feltzs lost a lot of weight? It was reported she was a size 12.
No way. She looked a lot better than she did before, but she was a 12 in her dreams. My wife is usually an 8 or 10, and she's an appropriate weight for her hight. Vanessa Feltz, when she was supposed to be a 12, was a good 4 stone at least, heavier than my wife...

I suppose it is better then being a size 0 many women aspire to want to be.Now that is bad and dangerous size to be as far as im concerned.

I think anyone who selects a person purely on physical appearance is shallow and self centred.
Queen Latifah gives me the hots as does Kelly Brooke - so go figure.
I have more of an issue as to how people on the smaller size keep that size.

So you know both Queen Latifah and Kelly Brooke? Else aren't you selecting them purely for physical appearance?

I agree with this and queen latifah I idolise her, she played a fantastic role in the film set it off.
I married my husband purley on his personality, I told him I never likes him when I met him. I feel in love with his personality, he himself was obsessed with his weight when we met.He used to use the weights all the time but that soon stopped when we had more kids lol.
I love him just the way he is, and thats that

No i'm selecting on the personna they project, not the parts they play - the physical size is irrelevant(to me anyway).
Oprah Winfreys probably the same size as QL but she has no appeal.
Does having a preferred size -mean you only fancy people of that size or do you fancy everybody that size?

Most people, whether admittedly or not, have a vision in their head of what they find attractive, it just seems the men who like the 'curvy' girl aren't deemed shallow like the men who prefer the 'skinny' type.
A guy who my (slim) friend used to work with and fancy like mad would only go out with size 8's, she was about a 10-12 and he wouldn't look twice at her, then she lost weight and he was all over her, she told him to do one, I can't see how dropping a dress size makes someone more appealing, she didn't actually look that different.

I don't have an issue with skinny women - i was quite taken with a lady i worked with once she was probably not even an 8. Madeline Stowe has been one of my pinup movie girls for years.
It a conundrum - obviously you must like what you see on a physical level to take it to the important step of finding the real person.

Is that because the men who like curvier ladies have actually "got" the concept that women "do" have curves, perhaps?
I know there are some incredibly (Naturally) slender women out there, but on the whole, women are not meant to look like the "beckham-esque lollipops". women are meant to go in and out in the right places.
To me, the classic beauties, like Sophia Loren and your Marilyn Monroe are gorgeous, and I really do think Sophie Dahl looked prettier, was far more appealing when she was fuller-figured, than she is now. (TBH I think she's looking gaun, these days) I mean, have you seen the latest shots of la Loren? She's 72 (?I think?) and, my goodness, does she still look incredible (face and figure).
I also like a bit of meat on the bones of my men. I've always gone for tall, dark, bearded, and chunky blokes in the past. though I broke the mould last time as the fella was not so tall, very slender, clean-shaven and blond.
The "lollopop look" obviously "works" for some chaps. like Beckham, but each fella (and woman, of course) has an idea what they like, and it can range from tall, thin, and dark, to short, plump, and fair.
The ex-mr PT used to drool over Cher. He and I used to get to talking about his liking for her.
I used to say,
"It's really odd. You are drooling over this tall, dark, thin, Native American/Armenian... and here you are, with a short, plump, blonde Viking-type. *scratches head*."

If you're wanting people's honest opinion for work you're doing, you shouldn't append your own opinion on what you think is good and bad. It might influence the outcome of your research

Erm no, some women are naturally skinny and can't gain curves no matter how hard they try.
As for the Cher thing, perhaps she was busy washing her hair so turned him down and he made do with you.

I don't think 'size' matters. To me it's who's inside the body that counts. Social intercourse is the thing that makes sexual intercourse exciting. Having an 'eye candy' girlfriend who can only talk about hand bags and shoes and breast enhancement is a definite no-no in my books!

Out of five of us, ( cousins on my mother's side) I have a cousin who'd struggle to make a size 8:- she is naturally that slender, (gorgeous, with bone structure to match) but the rest of us cousins, (we three sisters, and my other maternal aunt's daughter) are cast in a somewhat, *cough", stockier mould. I'm very large boned (solid, at 5'1 & 3/4, size 9 feet, and men's sized hands) my sis down from me is 5'9/5'10 and similarly large boned (size 24/6). the youngest is a size 14 and 5'5/6.
ps there's no "make do" about it!

How can you generalise each man's preference, to 'what size women do men prefer'. Men are just like us, they'll have their own different preferences.
Many men are with tall willowy blondes because that's the role model of the time we're in now whilst secretly lusting after a small, plump brunette or redhead. Some men don't care what their mates think and go for the woman they really prefer, even if that's a SSBBW.
I sometimes wonder if men who stipulate these very tiny women have a dominance problem especially if they're pretty big themselves. If you fall for someone very small in comparison because they're just lovely, fair enough. But actually refusing to date someone who's bigger than a size 8?

Very good point ruby. Different people have a different "ideal" person in their minds eye.
Also, what about the time where you meet someone who doesn't fit your "pattern", but you think "kablooey! "
For example, as I said above, normally, someone like the lead singer of the Mavericks (Raoul Malo, le sigh... http://www.raulmalo.com/gallery.html ) really floats my boat, (tall, chunky, dark, bearded) but the last time I was going out with someone, he was not so tall, and he was slender, fair, and clean-shaven.

I am sure everyone here is old enough to know they can voice there own opinion.
And considerin how people are good on here at having and voicing there own opinion my comment would not sway anyone.

One of the replies above was about how a guy would not date a women that as bigger then a size 8.
The average size woman wears a size 10 to 14. Of course, how size 14 looks on you depends much on your height. A woman 6 foot tall could weight 145 pounds be as thin as a super model. But a woman 5 foot at 145 is a little chunky.
I just want to see if the more curvy women is the women men love rather then the stick thin women.
In today's day and age thinner women are portrayed to be the women that are more likely to pull a guy and the kind of women everyman dreams of.
I am doing this to prove that men do still prefer the curvier women in life and not just the slim kind. And if they do prefer the slimmer woman I then want to look in to how much pressure women feel to be the "ideal" weight.
Relationships are inevitably a compromise it should be noted that human beings are extremely superficial and do indeed judge a book by its cover. Individuals are picky because they can afford to be it's that simple.

You were doing really well up until "SSBBW" then you seemed to go all stereotypical with your following para. If that being the case could your definition be that large women put on weight because they prefer to be dominated? How many times have we heard a woman suggest "Oooo the dream of my life must be 6" 2". and end up with 5" 4"? Is the 5" 4" guy to feel insecure? because he seems to have come off second best?
I'm wondering why we all seem so interested in what other men/women prefer in others. Logically it seems we can't win with all the stereotypes flying around. Large women will always look down upon men if they choose a size any less than themselves, as do smaller women with men choosing larger women. Many men find the more the woman is slimmer (text book figure) the more likely they'll advocate the larger woman only because they are intimidated by text book attractiveness and feel they haven't got what it takes? Mostly our judgments are based on our own insecurities rather than honesty.
Personally I've known large women as cold as dead fish and thin women as warm as hot toast in bed on a Sunday morning..and vice versa. How I perceive them doesn't make them...they/we are what they/we are.
Being fat or thin really has no relevance...unless you wish to make it so.

I see. What you're hoping to prove is that a 'curvier' model is what a majority of men find desirable in women? Or whether they would be happy to date a 'curvier' woman despite the prevailing trend for very slim, under-developed female bodies and without feeling social pressure to pressure a woman they love, slim down and muscle up? A lot depends on how influenced the man is by his peers, would you agree? No matter what our body type is, we're all ultimately judged on our personalities, male and female alike.
Do a search and you'll probably find several threads based on this theme. You could maybe utilise them in your research also.
