recently bought a t-mobile dongle pre-paid 3 month with a "fair useage" of 2gb a month, after 2 weeks this morning I have downloaded around 3gb of data and no message saying ive breached my fair useage policy, altho I am downloading at "off peak" times now

jif your on t-mobile you will know between midnight and 4pm is "off peak" during these times can you download as much as you want?

im not doing it all the time, just this month im downloading all that I need so I probobly wont breach it again

thanks in advance

Why doesn't anyone know how to use Google any more?

This basically means they can slow/restrict/block your internet connection depending on how much you go over the fair usage policy. As far as I can see, there is no mention on the website of an "off peak" time. I really don't think there is any off peak time on these as that wouldn't work with a pre-paid system. For it to be "off peak" they would have to charge you different rates at different times, but because it is pre-paid, that would be impossible to implement. Maybe you've got it confused with something else?

Are you sure off peak is midnight though to 16:00? That seems strange.

No,. that's perfectly possible, in the same way that pre-paid mobile phones can charge you different amounts for different types of numbers. Basically, you have £x credit, then it is taken off at whatever the rate at that time is.

You have misunderstood the reason that T-Mobile have an off peak time.
After reading through the links you provided, I have worked out that if you go over your fair usage amount of 2gb in any one month, they will restrict your internet access during peak times (between 4pm and midnight) to "light usage" only, blocking the ability to do "heavy usage" activities such as streaming videos from Youtube and downloading large files. The off-peak time isn't in place for any special unlimited internet access period, its better to think of it as the time that you wont be punished for exceeding your fair usage allowance.

These are quotes from your links. They seem to explain it all pretty clearly.

"What happens if I breach my Fair Use Policy?

You will continue to be able to use your Mobile Broadband for unlimited browsing. That means you'll still be able to browse websites, login to Facebook, check your Hotmail or catch the news on the BBC.

For the time being, however, between 4pm and midnight you won't be able to do other heavy usage activities such as watching videos or downloading files.

Before 4pm and after 12 midnight your Mobile Broadband service will continue to run as normal.

Your Fair Use Policy duration depends on how you purchase your Mobile Broadband. When your Fair Use Policy begins again, either at the start of the next calendar month or your next purchase, it will be reset to 0 and your service will return to normal. For example, if you have a monthly FUP, at the start of the following calendar month your Fair Use Policy starts over again."

"What does unlimited browsing mean?

Browsing means looking at websites and checking your email, but not watching videos or downloading files. We do have a fair use policy but ours means that you'll always be able to browse the internet, it's only when you go over your fair use amount that, during peak times, you won't be able to download, stream or watch video clips."

I'm struggling to see how this confused you?
