Don't worry this isn't another Police helicopter over the Gleadless Valley thread ! Instead its an appeal to the forums air spotters and radio listeners to identify a helicopter that passes over Sheffield almost daily. Today (Tuesday) it passed over south Sheffield around 12:15 heading south then returned heading north about 15 minutes or so later. At a guess I would say I see it every 2 or 3 days including weekends.

It isn't SY99 , OH99 , a Helimed or a military helicopter but is civil , blue in colour , has retractable wheeled undercarriage and most noticeable has a jet turbine type engine which means you hear it about 5 mins before it passes over. Sadly its always just to high for me to read its registration.

Can anyone identify it or say what it is up to ?

if it heading away from/to chatworth could be the duke of devonshire's only a guess I know he uses big one with retractable undercarrige and land on the front lawn at chatsworth.
