ive recently signed up to folksy and am in the process of preparing stock for uploading onto the site...but i was wondering, how many fellow forummers have shops on folksy?
being as sheffield is the hub of the world (wherever you go, youre bound to either meet someone from sheffield or who knows a person from here...and invariably you know them too! ) i thought it would be nice to see who else in this fair city is selling what.
i know that sometimes doing craft fairs you dont get to spend the time youd like browsing/shopping...so come and say hello on here so we can say hello there!
if you havent seen folksy, do go and have a look, there is some fabulous stuff for sale from all types of crafts and for all sorts of items. there are also materials and makes available too for a bit of inspiration.

Hi, I've just opened on Folksy as well. Ebb and Flow is the name to look for - not been there long so I'll see how it goes!

my mum always used to collect seaglass when we went to the beach...but she just put it all in a bowl.
i think your ideas are much more interesting, its a material i dont think ive ever seen used before!
ill look forward to checking back and seeing what else youve got.

My sister-in-law uses Etsy.com. Its an American website but plenty of Brits use it and sell all over the world. Its very similar to Folksy.

Ive been thinking of joining Etsy.com not heard of folksy. I make handmade cards and jewellery, i wonder if it would be worth joinging up. How much does it cost?

it costs 10p to list and item for 6 months on folksy at the mo.
theyre also not charging any commission on sales, although i believe it will be 5% when it does kick in.
if you go to the FAQ section of the website, everything you need to know is there.
libero- i almost want to buy an ipod now, just so i can have one of the those cases! i like those a lot and the stiching is so neat and even, go you!

its great value!
there is also big cartel, which is a pay monthly site, but does have a free listing option. however, the free section is rather limited. this site covers clothing, music, and craft...but one new online shop a month is enough for me to manage at the mo! lol (i still have to work full time! )
i dont currently know of any others specifically aimed at crafts...but if i find any, ill be sure to post on here.

I've been on folksy for a while and have a few bits listed. Most of my items are a bit more pricey than most on there so sales have been very slow, however it has created lots of hits to my site & enquiries through there. I really like the folksy site layout and its such an easy way for people to list & sell items, its a shame the fees arnt based on item cost as list smaller items in bulk is just too expensive.

i know that for the handmade items you can have batch of 5 of the same items in one listing...is this something that is applicable to the items youre referring to?

Unfortunatly the smaller things are all one offs, they are greetings cards, all same size and shape but there are probably around 150 different card images so they would really have to be seperate. I'll have to stick to making packs of cards and selling them rather than all the individual ones that i have in stock, although i might put a few of the osingle ones on just to see what happens!

I'm on folksy and etsy: The Decorative Dore - I've had more success with etsy - it has a bigger audience i think.

Hi, I sell on folksy (look for 'mamapie'). I do gorgeous hand-painted plates, with cute characters inspired by kawaii-style illustrations.
And I am also mamapie at www.mamapie.co.uk - but not for plates.......check it out!

hey thanks for the great feedback priddypix and sophiec1979. nice to hear people like my stuff. YEY! ill be putting more on soon.
in reply to other posts on here, i think its 20p per item but you can have a stock of 5 for that listing. you cannot update the stock once people have bought you must relist if your stock level drops to 0. i think its better (cheaper) than etsy because etsy charge 20c per item per stock, so if you list one thing with 5 as stock level then it costs you $1. HOWEVER..... there are more people buying and selling on etsy so dont know whether youre more likely to sell on there.
im trying both at the mo, so ill see how it goes.
