char sui is my absolute favourite food in the world, but you have to do it right - nice and crispy, with a non-oily, non-packet sauce, and preferably peanuts mixed in!

we did it . we have an oriental menu up and running at the Miners arms Warren lane, chapeltown, here's what it looks like

Starters

Thai Loa Wraps
succulent minced pork cooked with traditional Thai herbs
served on a whole lettuce leaf

Chun Gon
fresh vegetable spring rolls, hand wrapped and cooked to a golden brown.

Giew Num
lucious steamed pork and coriander dumplings

Choice of accompanying sauce:
Sriracha Chili Sauce is a quality hot sauce with a sweet, garlic flavor.
Miner's See yau sauce is a cheery sweet, sour and mildly spicy sauce,

Mains

Chicken or Vegie Adobo served with rice & new potatoes
Traditional dish of the phillipines, a full flavoured stew cooked to perfection

Hak Hong Yue
Rich salmon beautifully cooked and wrapped in black bean sauce served with rice

Char Sui
Mouthwatering Traditional Chinese Roasted pork served with vegetables & rice

Kow Pad
Traditional Thai fried rice ( Chicken or veg) served with side salad

we are doing the starters at £2.50 and the mains £6.50

its been on for less than a month and it seems to be going well, I suppose it works well with couples or groups of people where a few are more traditional and others prefer the more exotic.

anyway I had to source all the ingredients and the recpies are all authentic my brother who still lives in Hong Kong is a chef at one of the hotels. But yeaah all the food i miss!!

distjames, sounds great I love a lot of the cuisines from that area of the world but usually have to cook the less mainstream ones myself!

what days/times do you serve this menu, do I need to ring ahead?

Is it otherwise a regular pub? If so I'd prefer to come when it's a little more quiet to eat, rather than full with drinking regulars. What do your recommend.
