Or less snow.

Oz has had a week holiday with my family, I finally got him back today but he is struggling a bit with all the snow here! It is very funny watching him but after a trip to do the horses tonight he is shattered. He has to leap, land, take off again because it is deeper than him in the untouched bits of the field. He did manage to work out that if he followed Rhia it would make life easier! Still, he was enjoying himself and seemed happy to be back. I'm surprised at how well Rhia is coping, the arab horse I have isn't doing as well but is managing ok.

Are anyone else's pets struggling with all the snow?

Hi

I've got 2 arabs, 1 nearly 29yrs old and a 4yr old, as well as a 12yr old ThoroughbredxWelshcob.

To be fair they all seem to be doing fine in this weather (it's me that's knackered carting umpteen buckets of water down to them every day!) I'd go as far as to say they seem to prefer it to heavy rain any day of the week.

When you say the arab isn't doing so well, in what way? Is he/she losing weight, looking miserable? If it's a weight thing, have you tried adding vegetable oil to the feed, it's a great way of getting cheap, easily digestible calories into them.

Cheers

Our Yorkie is the same with the snow balls on his legs, chest and belly. I have thought about getting him one of those suits or fleeces with legs in, but by the time it comes the snow will have gone.

our lurcher doesn't do well in these temps, even with her coat on, 15 mins of mad running, ball chasing and then she starts shivering and looking dejected, head down and off inside.

I don't have a dog but I've seen my neighbours dog. It's walking like a robot in the snow. He can't get his paws off the ground quick enough! Poor little sausage.

My piggies didn't like it at the start of the snow, but seem to be ok now they've got used to it
