Hi, I'm hoping someone can help. I have bought a network adaptor for my 360 today and have a Linksys 802.11 on the PC upstairs. I've tried to seach for a connection but the 360 can't find anything. Does anyone have any advice? I previously had a PS3 that picked up the signal fine from the same spot that the 360 is in now.

is the light on on the adaptor? Mate of mine had a similar issue and it was a very fine line between the adaptor being seated well and not!

It's on but it keeps flashing.

hmmm I think its supposed to be a solid light - break out the blutack or sellotape and try and find a position where its a solid light then stick that baby in!

Tried moving it about but it is still flashing. The console is very close to the wireless router as well. I'm not sure why it wouldn't pick up the wireless router!

The router is a Linksys WRK54G if anyone has any idea what might be the problem.

Phone the customer services helpline, thats what we had to do when it wouldn't pick up our signal, and they talked us through the setting it up, you have to put up with an american accent though, lol.

A flashing green light means the adapter is attempting to connect to a wireless access point and as such is normal. Have you tried moving the router closer to the xbox for a better signal?

Can you log on to the router with your PC - instructions here.

Linksys have a help page for PS3 - don't know if the same applies to XBox - here

Does the Wireless section of the router have an allowed list? you should just need to enter the mac address of the dongle you have plugged into the USB port if so.

best regards,

I've managed to do it now, was a complete nightmare though. I ended up having to move my 360 upstairs on the tiny TV so that it could reach the PC with the tiny ethernet cable. Once that was set up it saved all the IP address etc on the 360 so when I used the wireless adaptor again it worked!
