The fact you have been honest enough to hand the bag in, has warmed the cockles of my old heart!! I am sure you will be rewarded for your honesty. It restores my faith in human nature to hear a story like that!! Well done you!!!

My missus lost her purse with £190 in it, i wasn't working at the time and the money was for our sons birthday present and party, we never saw the purse or the money again so i know the grief it can cause.
To be honest i've no idea what was in the bag as i didn't look, would be nice if the owner reclaimed it and broke out in a huge smile though, that'd be the best reward possible.

I did my good deed for the day today. I found a purse on the floor of a supermarket and handed it in. Anyway the owner of the purse who was really grateful and wanted to reward me. Bearing in mind she was in her 80's I declined to take the offer up, but so glad she was reunited with her purse and the £200 in it.

Why the hell she was walking around with £200 and a bank card which she openly admitted her purse has the pin number in....she got some words of advice from me which I hope she listened to.

aw, good on you - its so nice to hear of good deads. My driving licence was found lying on a path a couple of weeks after I'd had my handbag stolen and the lovely man who found it brought it round - I was so grateful to get it back.

Hope they are reunited.

I once declined a reward i was dying to accept.
Whilst out walking i witnessed a very nasty accident, someone fell from a 10 metre rock face, i was the only person there besides his girlfriend and no way could she get down to where i was, i administered first aid for over an hour till the Edale mountain rescue turned up, to cut a long story short he fully recovered and offered me a set of keys to their villa in Brittany, now being a megalithic nut and knowing Carnac and all it's wonderful monuments are close by i was really tempted to accept as they hardly used the place, being a hill walker too though i accept the code of help without reward and reluctantly declined the offer, it was gut wrenching as with 4 kids to support i can't really afford holidays away from the normal annual family holiday and this would have been heaven for me, couldn't do it though as i'd always have had the reward part of it in my head, besides nothings as rewarding as seeing a good outcome from what could have been disaster.

There is an almost unbelievable second event happened the same day as this that ended tragically, this is where i get called a big fat liar.
Being very late setting off home due to tending this guy i had to make a mad dash back home from Derbyshire to get the shopping the missus had asked me to get before the shop shut.
Pulling up outside the local shop with 5 minutes to closing time i saw an old lady rushing across the road to get in the shop, she was 72, she tripped up the kerb and hit her head on the ground, she didn't recover and was pronounced dead the next day.

Not meaning to make light of this but it was some excuse i had to tell my missus.

Enjoy every day you have i say, bring happiness where you can because you never know when you'll need help or when your time will come.

Good on ya.
The feeling you get from making someone smile, even if you don't see it is far longer lasting than the pleasure of a day spent shopping with some other poor sods hard earned.

The guy may have felt better if you had accepted his offer. I know I would.

Ah, but in those days, and if it was the other way round, i'd have had nothing in the way of a reward to offer other than a verbal "thank you", i was proper on my ar*e back then, as they say.

I applaud your honesty, but don't you think you would have been better to hand it into the information desk rather than a specific shop. The lossee(?) may have no idea where it was lost.Although I guess that is what Argos will do with it or open it to see if there is any ID.
But well done anyway.

Good karma makes it's way to you!

Nice to read that some people have hearts, and think of others!

Not the finders, keepers mentality you tend to find!

Well seeing as it's been a couple of days and if anyone was going to claim it i think they will have done so by now i can say i found it under one of the tables in argos, hence handing it in there.
I also presume they'd inform meadowhall customer services.

about ten years ago whilst at uni in edinburgh myself and some friends were enjoying a bit of a session when a mate found a wallet on the floor and handed it in at the bar. a half or so later a guy walked in tracing his steps and it transpired he was on a stag night and had dropped it containg a large wad of cash. my pal being the humble lad would not accept a thank you token gesture £10 from the guy after the barman had pointed out the finder. Anyhow a drink or so later my pal goes up to bar gets in a round to be told the man who lost his wallet had left him a £20 behind the bar as a tab! karma!
