I receive regular updates from the Fix My Street website (www.fixmystreet.com), including recently 21 reports, submitted over a number of weeks, from a poor 'Parent & Resident' ALL of which are concerning the Fulwood Motor Company's appalling disregard for road markings and the safety of those using the road and footpaths around it's property - including those around the nearby Nethergreen School.

Here is the latest report - http://www.fixmystreet.com/report/84002

I'm aware that the reporter has received a standard letter from the council saying they'll monitor the situation and have spoken to the FMC's owners about the situation. But, from the looks of the continuing reports made by 'Parent and Resident' to the website, what more can be done to stop this?

The FMC are parking vehicles on double yellow lines, making it difficult for people to cross the road safely, in an area where many children need to cross the road to reach the school. This is an accident waiting to happen and something more needs to be done.

edit: I realise the particular report I have linked to does not show the car parked on double yellow lines (it reports that one of the vehicles is untaxed) but many of them do. See here -

Fixmystreet isn't run by the council. Are you sure they're passing on your reports? Have you contacted the council direct?

I also get reports from fixmystreet and are delighted about all these reports , by the sound of it the reporter has been in contact with someone from either streetforce or parking service , she has the right to complain as there seems to be one rule for the fulwood motor company and one for everyone else

In the meantime if the children use the crossing then they will be in no danger as the crossing is near enough outside the school, so it would seem pointless to walk down the road to fulwood motors to try and cross where there is no crossing.

maybe you could also get parking services to attend to the elderly gentlment who parks his car on double yellows at the junction of fulwood road and crimicar lane causing untold problems for buses and traffic trying to turn!

I'm not the one doing the reporting - it's just that it seems like every other day there's another message from them and I started to feel as though I should help them out, but not sure how!

The website keeps the reporter updated with the progress of the report - if you have a look at the bottom of the report it usually says something like 'passed on to Sheffield City Council at (time)'.

I also get the reports and am amazed that the council/police have not done anything. Sooner or later something will happen (injury accident) and I bet they both peddle so quickly backwards they will be out of sight
What is the problem with going up to the firm and telling them in as few words as possible to stop it!. Failing that whos for volunteering to use their cars to block all entrances to their site, if its good enough for them then its good enough for us

I suppose one of the problems nothing has been done is that people who have 'sold' their cars to FMC have not filled in the bottom of the form and the DVLC information gained by the council means that tickets are going to the old owner instead of FMC.

Something needs to be done about this and other car sales who do the same thing (The one opposite little london road on chesterfield road springs to mind)

Maybe the complain should be lack of grit bins, as then the residents could tend to the streets themselves, or is that beneath people now a days??

The problem around Nether Green isnt FMC but the idiot parents that park anywhere they want blocking drives ,parking on double yellows, blocking roads by plonking themselves in the middle of road with their hazards on . It drives me crazy you can park around the school but you may have to walk a concept the people of Nether Green cant seem to grasp!!!!!

They have been parking there for years - long before the yellow lines were there. The lines were put on just about every junction a couple of years ago as part of the transport 'upgrade'. You will see them all the way along the bus route on Fulwood Rd and Crimicar lane etc.

You should be contacting the council's Parking Enforcement team directly. They are quite good
