You can report it online in the Streetforce part of the http://www.sheffield.gov.uk council website.

Just think of it as your contribution towards reducing the UK's carbon emissions.

With targets of up to an 80% reduction being considered, we'll all soon be sitting in the dark.

(There'll doubtless be exceptions for politicians and the ultra rich though.)

6 weeks and 10 calls it took me so dont hold ya breath, when calling dont speak to the people in reception, there useless and fob ya off, ask to talk direct to lighting. gets results, or expect 6 weeks,

in that case contact a local councillor , however, if its a electric fault ie one that can only be dealt with by the electric company it can take time

Believe it. When i lived up wincobank this became a standing joke!! Everyone in the local area became used to the lights going out and when they did we knew it would always be 7 days before they came back on. I've longed believed that this is a council tactic to save money.

If it's an electric supply fault rather than the lights themselves, it could be weeks. The council have no SLA with the electric company for electric supply to streetlights(!?!?!?) - or so I was told when ours were out for weeks.

They tend to come out to do lights at night for the first inspection so you never know , depends how busy they are and how windy it is - if its too windy they they cant go up in the lifts to change builbs etc

I know the road/s that kimismum is on about , its a section fault and will need YEDL to attend , its not the first time this section of road/s have gone pitch black so hopefully when the new streetlighing and cableling is put up around Sheffield these problems will be fewer
