When are South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue recruiting?

Does anyone have any insider knowledge about when the Fire and Rescue service are recruiting again?
The website just says that they aren't recruiting at the moment.

They are currently building a new fire station down in the Dearne Valley and have a poster on the fence advertising for part time firefighters if thats any interest to you....if so I can get you the number when I go home tonight.

Hi there, I work for them and know that we are not recruiting for wholetime for at least 6 months and there is a good chance not for a year or so. I think we are looking for retained but you must live within 5 mins of a retained station. Keep checking the website as this has the most upto date info.

hello,recently moved to sheff after cuming out ov the army very intrested in joining the fire service wether it wud be sheffield or any where in yorkshire..not intrested in retained or part time after whole time so if any1 can help or u know ov any other areas in yorkshire where they are recruiting wud be much appreciated..thanx rob

Is there a website that tells you when Fire Service are recruiting, any equivilent to the police could you one?

The best thing to do is get the contact numbers of all the Fire Brigades in the surounding area (South Yorks, Derbys, Humberside etc..) and phone them all once a week to see if they are recruiting. Recruiting is not at any set time of the year, they will recruit as and when more staff are required.

i rang SYFR to day and they are recruiting next month but mainly looking for women or men of a ethnic orgin .

What a bloody joke. I want some 6ft+ man with a good command of English to be coming to my rescue if I set the house on fire unawares.

For starters, they need to be able to carry me if I'm passed out.

As much as I like skinny little Chinese women I don't want them rescuing me from a fire.

Seeing as the police own a brothel in our city I suppose they will be recruiting fat ugly men in the name of equality soon enough.

SYFR are recruiting BME groups and Females in March. Unlucky to white British men. Even been homosexual does not help these days.
Plus they are only recruiting between 10-15 people. Just for equality figures.
