Park there and leave your door open. It's at your risk and peril but it's the loophole to classify your parking as loading.

Wouldn't you also have to watch out for whatever the buses only hours/restriction is on Leopold Street?

LOL, not only would you find your stuff inside the car nicked you would still find a pcn stuck to your windscreen. Theirs no such loophole, dont believe me try it.
The issuing Civil Enforcement Officer would observe your vehicle for a period of 5 minutes for signs of loading activity. As non is found a ticket is then issued. it would be your responsibility then to make a challenge against the Charge on the grounds of loading in which proof would also be required eg a receipt or purchase order, showing large item purchased where the need to be parked in a loading bay is required.
theirs a few pay and display baysfurther down the road on a side street including just off union street.

How do all the big flash cars with chauffeurs standing for ages bang outside the town hall repeatedly get away with it then?

Possibly that they are going to the Town hall for a wedding and maybe supplied with a permit of such???
I saw last year police stood outside the Town hall pulling cars into the layby there and having a chat with them, so i belive that cars shouldnt be driving through there, i could be wrong tho.

Very pointless post really, didnt get your point i simply implyed that maybe you have to apply for some sort of permit from the registry office if you was planning to get married and wanted a car there!
If you dont have anything constructive to say, maybe keep it to yourself??

That's your opinion. You're entitled to voice it. As I am mine. Just because you may not be able to see the point of a post, doesn't mean there isn't one.

My point is that it is not only wedding parties.
Perhaps observant can tell us what laws apply to parking outside the town hall.

You can also park here at any time by placing a plastic folder bearing the words 'South Yorkshire Police' on the dashboard.
