I nominate the 97 route, I have been in town today (19/11/09) and arrived at stop MF3 in Cumberland St. to return home at 12.50pm. The service due off High St. at 12.50 didn't show, neither did the 13.05 and the 13.20 arrived late at MF3 at 13.30 which meant I waited 40 mins for a 15 min service . . .
. . . Grrr !

The 97 tends to be worse after 6pm. The 53 tends to be late every time I need to catch it.

Must admit I get sick of waiting and end up walking to Hillsborough. The 20 is also unreliable at times.

The 33 is a joke - they're every 30 mins and now it's dark, wet and cold they are often missing. I just missed the 5pm one on Castlegate and had to wait for an hour as the 5:30PM bus was missing. This happened quite often last winter too.

I rely on this bus so much to get to and from work as other bus routes are a bit out of the way (I suffer with arthritis so walking can be a problem) and I'd be grateful if Stagecoach started to use this bus route cos their tickets are so much cheaper. I pay £58 each month for this hit and miss First service.

If I ring them to make enquiries I'm just told when to expect the next bus, if I email a complaint the reply tells me how many times I've contacted them and they will take my enquiry into consideration. Then I hear nothing more from them and the bus still goes missing.

Also, 33 drivers have been terminating on Arundel Gate and turning passengers off the bus so they have to wait for the next bus or find an alternative, what is going on?

I'd love to know what Last are actually doing with the 33 route. It wasn't long ago (last month) that they were scrapping the route, then all the changes never took place.

TM Travel tend to run on time when they take over the route on a night, maybe they should be allowed to run it during the day as well.

I'll wager none of our illustrious city councillors use the buses to get to and from their meetings.

Perhaps if they had to we might see them take some interest in the plight of their citizens and the total waste of space occupied by First's management.

I wouldn't be so sure. They get free bus travel after all.

I nominate the 47, every 12 minutes? maybe 40 minutes? maybe 1 minute?

Different every time you catch it.

Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea, and I wonder if many councillors actually do catch the bus

I nominate the 45 and 46 that go along Carlisle Street up to Wincobank (I think?)

Agreed athough I also used to get the 97 and 53 so I know what people are talking about with them as well.

Strangely enough both the 45 and 46 have been running perfectly (in my experience) for the last few months right up until the clocks changed. Since then they've frequently been late (yes I know the argument about traffic but it doesn't seem to stop other buses on busier routes), missing completely or my personal favourite, they arrive into Firth Park and then go out of service, leaving dozens of people at the stop on Bellhouse Road fuming.

The problem with late buses at this time of year is caused by the fact that there is more traffic on the roads because people are generally not on holiday now. Also now that it is dark, wet & cold in the mornings people tend to take their cars rather than stand at bus stops, this adds to the traffic and makes buses late.

I avoid the 47 if I can, but the last three times I've caught it, a bus has been missing. Actually 4 buses in total, as a 48 also failed to turn up heading the other way.
