i have a acer with 1.5GHZ intel (R) celeron (R) m processor
im after info like can i upgrade this
is it worth the upgrade
i think it is socket 479 m but unsure
any info please

i changed processor in an ibm thinkpad from 1.5 to 1.7 (better cache) it all seemed to work but noticed it reported back as running at 598 mhz (seemed faster than this though)
seems some lappys will not accept them unless they are listed in the bios and will run them at failsafe
saying that putting in a proper intel instead of the celeron should make a difference without going much higher speed than it is now

showing it at 598 though could have been speed step (it slows it down when the speed is not needed, to save on battery)

i thought that as well ghozer but i noticed it never moved even when i deactivated speedstep
a quick google pointed to it being a failsafe
even tried it with a 1.4 and even that did it
did all the updates on the bios and controller and still no look
