hya can i have a bit of advice, have recently started a new job in nhs, left my old one after several years and now im missing it dreadfully.
i know its early doors yet but was told my old job is still open to me!and they would transfer me back,
do i stick this out or hold my hand up and admit how wrong i was, im in a dilema and its making me so depressed, any advice would be welcome.

If your old job was so wonderful, why did you want to leave it in the first place? Whatever the reasons, they probably still apply.

I think most people starting a new job have doubts - I have with every new job I've ever started, it's mainly thinking that I'll never be able to get the hang of it! New situations, where you don't feel on top of things, are usually scary and, if you haven't changed jobs for a good while, it tends to be worse than if you've chopped and changed a lot.

You need to think very carefully before making a decision, especially if your career progression could be affected.

Yes everyone takes time to settle in to their new job, try and focus on the reasons why you left; it might be worth doing a pros and cons list for each job. Give it a little while at your new job, and maybe discuss any concerns you have with your new manager - is there anything specific they could do to make your new job better and help you settle in more?
