I am sure that several perhaps hundreds were caught out as i was on Thursday 27th, by the blatant revenue raising speed camera halfway down Twentywell, i travel up+down this road several times a week, i lived on this road for 5 years so i know it well, can anybody confirm if this was a Council trap or Police? Whats the legality of afixing temporary 20mph speed signs stating "loose chippings" when there wasnt any? i was coming down the road at about 28 MPH

Temporary speed limits such as that are not enforcable.A compulsory speed limit is denoted by a round sign with a red border if it doesnt have that is advisory.there maybe exceptions but few.
You have 14 days to sweat it out,but at 28mph on your speedo i dont think you have cause to worry.your speedo is fast anyway.
If you do get a ticket go to
www.pepipoo.com or go there anyway, keep yourself informed

Why is it that people shout and complain when rules / laws are there for a reason?
The camera would be clocking anyone going over 30mph. The problem with Twentywell is that people zoom down the hill from Bradway and speed up on the flat bit. It is not a cash generator exercise - it is there to make sure people abide by the speed limit. As someone who walks up and down Twentywell and has nearly been knocked over by loonatics at 40/50mph, the speed cameras are welcome there anytime.

Many drivers really do drive too fast and for some reason use this Lane as though they`re on a rally, the speed should be monitored.

I can remember last week of being warned there was a camera by a family member on Twentywell. If the camera van was official it should have been South Yorkshire Safety Speed Partnership logo'd on the side. Mind you with the advance in technologies nowadays if you were caught at the start of last week you should have had a letter by the end of last week.
