There are quite a few contenders and most people would go with the Dirty Harry movies but has anyone seen The Eiger Sanction? Fantastic with great one liners.

High Plains Drifter. Love that film.

Or how about Kelly's Heroes?

Anything that's not Unforgiven, which was rubbish.

I quite liked Million Dollar Baby, although I wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as dark as it was.

Apparently I'm the only one who thought Unforgiven was rubbish then?

Apparently so.

I didn't think it was rubbish. I just didn't think it was as good as everyone seems to think. His older stuff is much better.

Million Dollar Baby was brilliant & though he did not act in Changeling he did direct it & he & the characters seemed to add something very human about that film.

He is the Mcdaddy of films & he aint bad looking for someone of his age.

Having only really been interested in films for the last few years, I've not actually seen many Cline Eastwood films, but the last few films he's been involved in (Changeling and Gran Torino, Letters from Iwo Jima and Flags of Our Fathers) I've enjoyed very much.

Changeling and Gran Torino were probably two of my favourite films of the last few years.

I really must find time to watch some of his earlier stuff! As there's not much at cinema this weekend that I want to see, I might have a look in HMV for bargains!

The Beguiled is one of my favorites. Also Thunderbolt and lightfoot with Jeff Bridges and Every Which Way But Loose to see the monkey out perform Eastwood.

ITV had a recent season of Clint films on Friday night which I got into a habit of watching and The Beguiled was one of them. A really interesting and enjoyable film, but then I do like the work of Don Siegel. You could say I was beguiled..

Escape from Alcatraz?

I also thought Unforgiven was extremely overrated.

It just seemed like an ego piece to be honest. The (Non-Eastwood) characters aren't allowed the signity to survive, only Clint is good enough for that. Even his young mate runs off terrified, after killing a man and realising that he "ain't like you."

And I had to sit through enbarassing scenes of Eastwood struggling to mount a horse and lots of other scenes showing how feeble he has become, but then he gets angry and takes part in one of the most ridiculous gunfights I have ever seen.

I think the only reason it won Best Picture is because most of the other films nominated that year were pretty poor.
