If we are moving to the right,why do so many want to see Jamaica win?

Some people on here would have us believe that British politics is moving to the Right and the BNP.

If this is the case then why are so many of us enjoying watching the jamaicans hammer the rest of the world in the Athletics.

Surely we should all be cheering on the Americans if we aren't in, although you can count me as one of those who is loving it and let's just hope they don't drop the baton in the relays.

I'm not. I quite enjoyed our Sheffield lass doing well, but beyond that it is down to your imagination.

it is nice to see a british winner but realisticly we are rubbish but if u are a loser in this country u are a winner---u finish up on the telly take a t----r like frank bruno ---say no more

I haven't got a clue what you are on about. What has the Jamaicans beeting the Americans got to do with politics left or right.

I seem to remember that the USA has just elected a black socialist president, and that the British Labour Party sent people over to help with his campaign. So does that make him BNP?

Incidentally Jamaican athletes wear yellow which probably makes their black athletes Liberal Democrats. I don't think the Americans have a set colour, but the Chinese are comunists so shouldn't you be shouting for them?

I must say I've heard nobody claim that Jessica Ennis cannot be British because she's the wrong shade. I suspect, though, that there are some people who will be saying exactly that.

There is a feeing within Politics that we are moving to the Right (hence the BNP doing a bit better).

People on the right tend to dislike B***k skinned people and some go as far as thinking that we are superior to them.

The question is that if this is the case, then why are so many wanting to see the Jamaicans beat the Americans in the Athletics.

jamaica was part of the british commonwealth until 1962 so why shouldnt we want to support them? they have closer links than the usa

Oh I see. So if we support the Chinese athletes who are light skinned as opposed to the Americans who are black, it is the same as supporting the BNP.

The far right people wont be happy of coarse, but 'centre right' people like myself dont care about skin colour. We just want to see our country do well.

Sometimes I just can't believe what I'm reading on here.....

As a nation we like to cheer on winners, that's if ours aint doing so well that is. It's not very difficult.

I remember Cameroon giving us a good-hiding...I so wanted them to go through after, not because of their colour but because they were hungry for glory.
