Catch a 52 bus, it will probably be quicker. The 52 is the most frequent bus in Sheffield.

4.2 miles on autoroute
that equates to £7.70 ish in a PH cab.
(not sure about a Black Cab)

about 8 quid depending on time of day you go.
but it will be roughly around that mark unless you use a black cab.

Does not matter about time off the day PH Taxis same price all day every day

correct.
And for the record...
Just about all of them (City etc) charge the same (or at least the drivers SHOULD)
£3.50 for the first mile.
60p per half mile after that.
i.e.
1 mile - £3.50
1 1/2 m - £4.10
3 miles - £5.90
etc

I used to do Hillsborough till handsworth regular before I moved in with my fiance, was always a little under a tenner. Obviously Hillsborough to Handsworth is a bit futher then you asked for!

Last time I got a private cab from Handsworth to queens road, was around £9, the last time i got a black cab at around 5.30am on a saturday morning from the city centre it cost around £10.
