Go on the woodhead pass to Manchester, then follow the signs for Chester, its one of the easiest places to get to in Britain.
It take's about an hour and 45 minutes.

Google Maps suggests Snake Pass:

Snake Pass, M67, left onto M60 (clockwise), M56

Went on Sunday and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Took about an hour and half, was a quick run through Glossop.

Does anyone know if you have to pre-book your tickets? I'm thinking of going, but I'm unsure if you have to pre-book them, or is it like Alton Towers where you can pre-book or pay on the door?

hi as im origionaly from chester and moved up here 20mths ago i find it very easy to go through woodhead and onto the manchester roundabout you will soon see signs for chester. Follow them and will take about an hour and a half.

If you live closer to crookes than high green prob best to go through snake pass via glossop as by the time you get to other side of sheffield you could be half way over the pass.

good luck.

ps. no you dont have to book at all, its like any other zoo and you just turn up and pay wen you get there.
