Just watching the above programme and Paul Hudson said something about dredging a river and clearing in Leeds and moving 150 million tons. Now I know they never make mistakes on that programme but how big an area would 150 million tons of dredged silt and rubble from a river cover.

i wouldnt know the area it would cover but dredging the river is a good idea, one that i have put forward on here and to the environment agency before,if we dredged our rivers it would help prevent sheffield from being flooded

I am still trying to imagine how big a pile of silt and rubble 150 million tons would produce.

Not as big as you'd think .. but certainly far bigger than anything that could be dredged from one river at one time. Unless we're talking about the Mississippi.
