I have it in the back of my mind that this was constructed in Sheffield,I think I heard it on the T.V. I know it was designed by Capita-Symonds but can someone enlighten me further as to where it was built?

It was built by Galliford Try, whoever they might be. I don't know where their factories are.

Out of curiousity are there any other famous buildings, additions to buildings that have been built recently that use Sheffield made kit in a significant way?

I second that!
Look north is ridiculous nowadays and the BBC need to do something about it
The Brooklyn Bridge in New York had at least some parts of it made in Sheffield hence Brooklyn works at Kelham island

it was made in the templeborough area of rotherham (not far from meadowhall)by street crane express and was fully assembled and tested before being stripped back apart and transported to wimbledon and erected using 2 large cranes
apparrently it weighs 6600 tonnes and runs along on train tracks
funnily enough i was speaking with someone last night in the pub who helped manufacture it and thats where i get the above facts from
