Hello everyone, just wondered if anyone has any suggestions for background music for our wedding DVD - it's not just the ceremony its the taking photos after aswell. It's not till next year but any suggestions would be appreciated. We're both into more alternative music but it's difficult to find a 'fitting' song, would rather veer away from the 'normal' stuff, eg Bryan Adams, Celine Dion etc.

Thanks!!

In the DVDs we produce we get a lots of differnt types of music requests from classic rock, country music and Brit Pop...and we find that most songs "fit". (But then again our master editor Paul is a trained musician and audio specialist -he can make the birdy-song fit!). Go with what you like... if you have a good videographer your music choice will work!

This was our list of songs that we gave our videographer to choose from. Not sure if they are alternative or not, but hope it's helpful!

Lionel Richie – Three times a lady
Blind Melon – No Rain
Elbow – One day like this
George Michael – Waiting (Reprise)
George Michael – The first time ever I saw your face
Jack Johnson – Better Together
Queen – Your my best friend.
John Legend – Ordinary people
Jose Gonzalez Heartbeats
Jackson 5 – I’ll be there
Lionel Richie (Commodores) - Still
Van Morrison – Brown eyed girl
Ray Lamontagne : Hold you in my arms
Somewhere over the rainbow / Its a wonderful world - Isreal Kamakiwo'ole

Just as an example we had:

Right at the beginning was a piece from Phantom of the opera.
Followed by:
(The usual) Bryan Adams - Everything I do- for my entrance
Van Morrison - Have I told you lately
Nick Lachey - This I swear
Elvis Presley - Can't help falling in love
Bic Runga - Sway (American Pie soundtrack I believe all though I didn't know this at the time)

Quite a collection but it all worked really well, as the others say it's what means the most to you, perhaps you can think of a song that has a meaning to a poingant part of your life i.e. when you met your partner etc??
