Does anyone have a pair? I've seen them in John Lewis and wondered if they're any good.
They sound like miracle workers -

but i'm always dubious of these online reviews (not that asking you lot is any different now I think about it!!)

I've a pair think they're great get a bit of air to the feet. Crap for walking far or driving tho. Also depends which you get too.

Why aren't they any good for walking far? I walk 3.5 miles to work each day. I wondered whether they'd be any good for that?

Just find they rub the big toe a bit too much if you're walking a fair distance non stop. Perhaps you've a higher tolerance of pain than me. Use em mainly round the house or in the garden. Nowt better than getting the socks off after work and being one with nature!

Aww bless, this made me chuckle.
Boots sell them and I've been looking at them but no idea of how good they are.

I have been wearing FitFlops for over a year now , not lost any weight but my Physio says my "buns" are very firm! As for not bieng good for walking a long time in , I wore them all last summer and have just done alot of sightseeing in the Med and they sure felt good . I do use the gel stick on my toes first though , it is a kind of vasaline you rub on any areas liable to blister. By the way , have just ordered some "looky likey" ones from a well known catalogue cosmetic company for £15.

Personally I'm not sure I like the idea of forcing the muscles in the leg to work by altering shape of the foot. Can't help thinking it would only cause trouble in the long term.

to be honest feet weren't designed for wearing shoes anyway so you are probably already doing that!

If they're meant to replicate the physiology of walking barefoot, isn't there an easier way to do that just by taking your shoes off and walking barefoot?

I've walked barefoot in town for a very long time and have only cut my feet half a dozen times in approaching 20 years.
The only reason I don't walk barefoot now is that I have eczema which leaves my feet open to infection and getting dirt pushed into the cuts is really not good, so I've had to start wearing sandals. I don't think I wore shoes in the summer at all from when I was about 14 until I started work at 21, and even then it was during business hours only and I was barefoot all the rest of the time, right up until I started with the eczema being worse a couple of years ago.

I have a pair of fit flops and I love them. Super comfy and I do a lot of walking in them. Not sure they've made any difference to my fitness or muscle tone though. I live in mine all summer.
