A Direct X error has occurred

...is what I'm getting when I try to launch a game on my PC.
It's PGA Championship Golf and has worked for years.
I've done two full uninstalls and installs but no luck. Any ideas?

have you tried downloading the full version of direct x and installing it http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...7-c693d210f616
I also recommend getting the latest video and sound drivers available for your hardware

Thanks for that, Steve.
I went to the link but it wants to put you through the whole 'Windows Genuine Advantage' route which is, er, a problem.
I've found loads of 'free' Direct X/upgrade drivers' sites but they just tell you that you've got x-million problems and when you try 'Fix', it just wants to relieve you of $$$.
Surely this is not such a problem to fix?

It's because, as you eluded to in your earlier post, you're using a cracked Windows.Do you have another game with Direct-X on it?

Also, make sure your GFX drivers are up to date, and the gfx card is compatible with the game you'r trying to play.

You are aware that the OP is talking about an illegal copy of Windows and you, as a mod, have just helped him circumvent that, aren't you?

not really, as this is freely findable and downloadable... if the OP had googled it themselves. so providing a freely usable and downloadable (none torrent / none illegal) link, leaves the op to decide such.

But the OP didn't google it themselves. You as a mod did it. The OP has alluded to their copy of Windows being illegal and needs ways to get around that fact. If you read your terms and conditions this thread shouldn't be allowed. You're not very good at this modding thing are you?
