How to get copyright abbreviation

How do i write the abbreviated copyright symbol,this is where the letter "c" appears with a circle round it?

In what context? Most modern word processors would just change (C) and it'd be © in HTML

so on a pc hold down Alt and do 0169 on number pad. On a mac hold down alt and click on the letter g on keyboard

or if your running xp (maybe same on vista not sure)

go to

Start -> All programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Character Map

and all special characters are there.
