Is that why you see all these jobs advertised?

I'm self employed, so I made a job where there was none.

And you can't say there are no jobs (well, you said is no jobs, but anyway). There are plenty of jobs, but they're just ones noone wants to do.

I found a contract in Kent a few months ago, I handed in my notice last week to take up another contract I found in London that is better for a number of reasons.

I have sent my cv to quite a few agencies and most of them say that they dont really have much at the moment. There are a few self employed jobs advertised though.

I had an interview last week for a Police Support Volunteer job, yes I know certain people will start about it being voluntary, but a job's a job whether it's paid or what IMO.

There are plenty of jobs available, you just have to get out there and find one,
IMHO, anyone who cant find a job doesnt really want one hard enough

I think the figures are something like 500,000 vacancies and around 1.2 million claiming Jobseekers Allowance and actively seeking work.

So provided peoples expectations are realistic then they should get one in every three they go for!

thats what I always thought. I'm in a different boat now.

Every moring I am up and about early mso I can trawl a dozen or so job sites. If I get a call for emergency temp work, I am able to just put my shoes on and I'll be on my way 5 minutes later.

I have not had a proper job since December (granted, I travelled for 6 weeks) but I ring, email and visit several agencies every week.

I have a job in a pub for 4 hours a week - also work in a sports stadium for 6 hours a fortnight and this week, I have 4 days stuffing leaflets into envelopes for minimum wage.

Anyone who says I don't really want a job can buy me a J20 at the Harlequin on Monday and say it to my face.

You should feel lucky that you have a job and not look down on those of us who want and need one.

Bar work
Gym work
Envelope stuffing
Thats three jobs

My post was aimed at the people who say they cant find A job.

Also I would not buy anyone a J20, I would never buy a non alcoholic drink in a pub, and besides wich I will be working

Or I would come down and buy you a pint

cant afford the taxi - cheaper to drive. Otherwise I'd shun anythig that was non-alcoholic.

Cant get a real job though. I've temped at an employment agency and it was gut wrenching to see so many broken people ask if we had ANYTHING... which we didn't.

(any jobs going where you work, Jongo?)

I would walk - but it is quite far.

I can do anything I put my mind to..... oh, and I though I would get a job straight away too. I think a lot of people have had the same misguided delusion.

I hope you do.

Hate you to have egg on your face by being one of those idle unemployed types who really don't actually want to work.
