Anyone know of any good PR companies in Sheffield? Would like to recruit someone / somebody local.
We have a fantastic project coming up - just need someone to spread the word!

Hi Zipsafe,
try an outfit called ParkerPr based in sheffield, sorry I don't have their number to hand.
They are people that the firm i work for use and seem very effective, you need to speak to a guy called Graham.

Best one in Sheffield is Hurndall Ross Media, run by former newspaper journalists and excellent at what they do.

It really depends what you are looking for in terms of PR. I wanted national coverage in quality magazines and newspapers. There was nobody that I could find with the contacts who could do this and I had a couple of bad experiences with agencies who claimed to be able to do it but couldn't wasting a lot of money.
I went to talk to a lot of PR companies in Sheffield, and none seemed to offer this service, many only wanted to get us in the star and the telegraph. For the same money (and a lot lot cheaper than someone like HR media) I found a company called Azaria PR based in Northamptonshire www.azariapr.co.uk who have got us coverage in magazines and papers such as the Sunday Times, the Daily Mail, The Independent, Women's Own, Bella, Mens Health, Slimming World, Green Parent, Mother & Baby and many many more titles. They are brilliant and an integral part of our success, I cannot recommend them highly enough.

you're right, it helps to use an agency that has the sort of contacts you need your PR to reach out to.
I have a large PR distribution list, but it's not geared to any specific sector, but if it's about getting the name out and about as opposed to reaching a specific target market, then you need to be clear about the objective of the PR exercise.

Thanks guys for the recommendations.
It is the wider PR coverage we are looking at. I could do a press release and send it into the Star / Telegraph, but I do not have the contacts for the vast area of magazines / supplements etc.
With PR I guess what you are paying for is someone else's relationship with a journalist / contact. People are sent thousands of press releases everyday but if they receive one from a trusted source, who has given them good ones before, then they will sit up and take notice.

It also depends on your budget as to who and what you can afford.
If it's a business-releated press release, send it to Bob Rae, the Star's business editor

Hi Zipsafe
Thanks for the bag from when we met at the Devonshire Cat. I have shown it loads of people who are interested. You didn't get back with your bulk supply prices.
I see you haven't got your full zipsafe website up and running yet.
You should be loading your home page with all your descriptive phrases and keywords that you want people to use to find your zipsafe bag.

That's better
Hi,
Glad you like the bag
It's been a mad few weeks - we are close to launching the site, just waiting for product images.
I've been looking at the bulk prices - should be able to get some prices over to you in the next few days.
The website page is just a test page - once the site is live the page will be full of phrases that will hopefully get picked up on search engines etc.

Just so you know, simply putting keywords into a website won't make google sit up and take note. It is important to submit your page to google and they will then pay specific attention to your keywords. Google Adwords is especially helpful in this area.
On a side note you will get far more hits per pound spent from search engine optimisation (SEO) as opposed to Pay per click (PPC). My biggest tip to achieve this is by incorporating a sitemap. This aids google's searchbot in finding the information about your website.

ZipSafe is a small cotton bag with a zip. Simple way to look after valuables and each bag can be personalised. PM me your details and I'll send you a sample - I handed a few out at the networking event the other week.
Thank you for passing on my details to the PR company - they have e-mailed me today. They look very good and will be in contact with them over the next few days.

I have sent you a pm Zipsafe, the bags sound interesting.
Amanda, it is something that has been mentioned before and it is somethig I want to address as soon as possible, I really don't like things that prevent people being able to get the information they need from our site. we have just secured some investment and this is one of the things I want to iron out. Thanks for the feedback!
