I am running XP Professional and I keep getting this annoying little message box pop up.

Quote:
The instruction at "0x370011328" referenced memory at "0x71ab428a". The memory could not be "written".Click OK to terminate the program
If I click "OK" the box closes.
If I click the cross the box closes.
On each time nothing shuts down, nothing untoward happens, anybody any ideas other than a big hammer.

Just out of interest I have just installed a 160gb hard drive but I do not think that would have anything to do with it.

this thread and this microsoft article seem to suggest that it may well be a 3rd party app that has hooked into IE..

it might be a legitimate one (google toolbar, etc.) or it may be a more surreptitious spyware kinda thang..

good luck sorry i couldn't be more help but i'm well busy at work today so can't spend too much time on the forum!

if you haven't already, try uninstalling any/all internet explorer toolbars (google, yahoo, ebay, mcafee, etc.).. and ad-aware from http://www.lavasoft.com would probably be a good idea as well..

hope it sorts itself out..
