Just wondered if anyone else is doing the 'New Years Day Quit'?

I've tried a couple of times recently but my other half set his quit date for today so I am also, and determined this time. Am not craving too much this morning as I smoked and drank too much last night

I've stopped already 3 years ago, but couldn't have done it without Boots's own brand NicAssist lozenges (the gum wasn't much help though, just the lozenges). Anyone wanting to quit, try these things. I've tried all the major brands and they all worked to a point, but those NicAssist things are really amazing. Just read the instructions on them and do exactly what it says and don't just use them like normal sweets and you'll stop.

Good luck.

I've been in bed since Xmas day with the flu so i haven't felt like smoking and the thought of it makes me feel sick so i have definitely quit. It's been a bad Xmas but at least something positive has come out of it .

That's what I did NYE 2007, smoked myself silly in one last "burn out".

It's definately a satisfying feeling and worth the initial pangs when you realise that you've done 365 days without so much as a drag!

I used the Nicorette inhaler but I didn't follow their "programme", I just kept it on me for the worst bits. And one packet of nicorette gum one difficult night in a busy pub where the only seat was directly opposite the draw of the cig machine... I hardly ever changed the nicotine cartridges but I did chew my way through 3 inhaler mouthpieces!
