Hi Tex - I definitely think Miss Krall would do an admirable job on 'Lush Life', being a musician I am sure she would get all the nuances that is prevalent in that song. --- Did'nt know that Joni had recorded Annie Ross's 'Twisted' nor would I want to hear it, by the same token I have heard so called 'jazz singers' massacre that tune also. --- I have to admit I kinda like Joni Mitchell and did'nt mind some of the earlier songs she wrote and her interpretation of the same. --- I remember her saying, (probably sleeve notes on an album cover) her affinity for jazz and jazz musicians and that she surrounded herself with the best session men possible, it seems to me that Bud Shank played on a few of those early dates.

It seems a lot of my posts are obituaries maybe I should change my moniker to "Grim Reaper"
The following did not ring a bell but he sure had one hell of a pedigree

Fascinating stuff, dex. I'd never heard of him at all, but like you say, a hell of a pedigree.
Seems to me fame is just how the breaks fall, and the number of jazz musicians, really brilliant masters of their chosen instrument, never getting any recognition, seems endless.
Grim Reaper or not dex, thanks for that.
