I watched the finale and was really dissapointed. Surely they can't leave it like that?? Normally i'de assume another series but I thought this was just a one off.

Can anyone fill in a void?

I totally agree, the ending was very poor and left me feeling cheated.

I dont remember the original series so I dont know if that was any different.

I heard on the radio that another series has been commissioned.

I thought it was strange as it seems the 2nd series was only recently confirmed. If it had got cancelled it would have been the worst ending ever!

I've enjoyed it but have to stop myself shouting "Go and got some guns", "You idiots you should have finished them off" etc etc. It's like an mild mannered apocalypse or something. No mercy from me during the end of the world

I got the feeling that it may have been one of those "shoot two endings" mini-series' which they waited to see the viewing figures for the first 2 episodes before choosing which ending to go with. Rare that a first season of BBC drama ends with a cliffhanger.

It isn't - haven't you read the rest of the thread?

Although the new version is only "based" on the original 1970s show of the same name, the 1970s version ran for 3 series and a total of 38 episodes so it would seem there's the potential for a long-running show here.

If you don't want to see how the 1970s version developed, don't look at the episode guide on the link below!

It only got 4M viewers for the final episode, and has been a bit of a ratings disaster for the Beeb.

Did anyone see Charlie Booker's review of it? Hilarious!
