Never tried them myself, but each to their own.
Also, I believe the politically correct term is 'homosexuals'.

Don't think they are made from brains, but there are some made by Mr Brains - confused, you will be.
Used to eat them, but haven't for a very long time now. Quite tasty as I recall

I haven't had them since I was a kid but they used to go down a treat with a bit of gravy.
I bet they don't sell as well in the US though eh? "Excuse me Mr Shopkeeper I'm after a pack of faggots".

Brain's Faggots are the best known brand. Apparently very popular in the black country.
I don't think they have ever been much of a sheffield thing.

It really isn't an appropriate question to ask in Emmett Idaho, It maybe considered a tad too personal!

I know, I just found it too hard to resist. It's nearly Friday and I was just being playful. I appologise for joking. I am fully aware that Sid has a healthy interest in women.

Faggots are part of the traditional cuisine of the Black Country, as anyone from the area would know. They are usually eaten with sloppy peas, making the dish known as 'faggitsunpays'. They are usually the main fare on the menu at Black Country cultural celebrations of one kind or another.
Faggots are the same as Haggis, but minus the oatmeal. The meat in them can come from pork, lamb or beef. A story I heard some years ago (which may or may not be true) is that during the English civil war, Scottish soldiers were treated, or treated themselves, to Faggots whilst marching through the English Midlands. They apparently took the recipe back with them to Scotland and the rest is history. We know of course that Haggis was a Scottish delicacy in the 18th century, as Burns wrote about this noble member of the pudding race. But I wonder if it was a delicacy in Scotland prior to English civil wars?
