Can anyone see themselves creating a (locked down) user account for me on their machine?

I want to be able to access X on my home PC when away from it, but that would mean setting up a DynDNS service for my router. I don't want to be wasting time doing that if getting the ssh/X combo is gonna be a pain/so unresponsive as to be unusable.

I want to have a play with using X over an ssh tunnel, so would need your machine/router to allow ssh connections and be running Xserver.

Would also need your external IP address (duh).

If you could be so generous, please pm me with IP/login info. The user account can be as restrictive as you like, I just want a chance to test out how well (or not) the setup would work.

Cheers.

I don't have a box at the moment, but I've done this before over dsl and it's been resonable. In fact I think when I first used remote x-server it was on a 56k modem, so nowadays you should be fine.

Cheers mrmist. I might have to get my linux box setup to allow access and fight with the dynDNS stuff then!

My *nix box at work doesn't have X installed. But if you wait till I get home (around 6pm ish), we can have a go. PM me and I will give you my mobile number so you can talk me through it.
