Hello

Seeing the fight for food on the TV all too frequently through famine. What would happen if the same thing happenned here?

Speaking to my elderly father he said, "If that happenned here we'd form a queue and take our turn." Would we though?

I tend to agree.

If my children were gonna starve I would be taking the food off people who had just been in the queue.

Interesting report, so if we go one day without a meal we are ok forming vidulanty groups and raiding local stores, I thought that only happened in America.

Especially when you think of the enthusiasm with which some people panic at the mere rumour of a shortage of a particular product.

The level of panic buying that would be induced by the possibility of all food being in short supply doesn't bear thinking about.

I've seen grown men trample over kids to get an Iggle Piggle or a Dora The Explorer

I should imagine the children and the elderly would be fed first, after that the women and then the men (this is only surmising)

I suspect the elderly might be left behind if food supplies were really that desperate, and as an older person I would agree with that. It would depend to an extent on the reason for the shortage, but if it was likely to be long term there would be a need to look to the future and for the young and healthy to have priority.

it would probably be left optional for the elderly to decide, I did think someone might put that point across and I wouldn't argue with it.

What about my mum and dad, I'd take food off others to feed them too, it would be chaos.

I'd hang fire, then eat your mum and dad after you'd fattened them up
