Hasn't been Hitchins for about 2 years I think some asian guys were running it last time I went in and it was like a tip.

Name changed - can't remember what to. Wasn't aware it had closed down I drive past it on my way to work but have been off this week.
I'm sure it was open last week.

hitchens was on attercliffe road not at daenall. i think it changed it's name to littlewoods.

funny that .. last time i went in it was called hitchens
always was littlewoods before (unless the sign had just been knicked)

had some good cheap video recorders in

It's been Hitchens since the 70's hasn't it?

Last time I went in was probably a year or so ago, was Hitchens then I'm sure.

i know it was hitchens when i lived down the cliffe. haven't been down there for ages so it may still be hitchens

Right it was called Hitchens changed it's name to littlewoods round about 1997 littlewood sold it on round about 2001 the new owners bought the name Hitchens with the shop from littlewoods and changed the name back.

We're talking about the store next to / near to the model shop, yes?

I've been in a few times and it's grim in there... never seemed to be doing much business.

Maybe back in the 1970s, there were loads of people living nearby but now Attercliffe Road has nowt but knocking shops

Meadowhall being five minutes that way <-- and the city centre 5 minutes that way --> won't have helped.

It was Hitchins said so above the door, closed a couple of weeks a go, it's gone bankrupt.

staff turned up for work two weeks ago,just told they were all redundant and to go home.

We'll miss them,it was our Sat routine, go to Banner's for dinner, look round the shop there and then go to Hitchins.
