**Note to self** Wonder why people give a hoot about Christmas when we've not even had Bonfire Night yet.

Celebrity switch on possibilities

Wonder if the Meadowhall lights will be worth while this year.

They haven't been very good in the last few years.

Not sure why Meadowhall spend thousands on having celebs to turn on the lights. At least last year was better with the fee going to children in need. Christmas is all about kids so get Bob or Pat to do it

Meh, he's probably cheap.

They could've got someone better, isn't Sir Cliff bringing a new album out in November? Perhaps he could do a promo for that while switching the lights on.

I've been to meadowhall by mistake when they turn on lights, the shops were empty everybody was crowding around the celeb. Brilliant I thought. Its probably going to be someone from x factor - yawn

Mcfly are playing the same night at the arena, but surely theyre much too big to switch the lights on! I work in Mhall and the security guards usually find out a couple of weeks before and tell us, but they dont know yet.
