Unbelivable!!!! appeal for everyone in Sheffield, especially Lowedges area to be on the look out, as little girl heartbroken
Little guinea pig who was stolen, is female a smoky grey colour with a white saddle.

What get's me they stole the hutch as well as, the depths some folk will stoop to is unbelievable!

This story has been well documented on Sheff forum, pet section and is in The Star today, so come on, good folk of Sheffield....help find this little girl's pet!

Why do they feel the need to do such awful things? The animals and hutchs themselves aren't valuable money wise, but as pets they are priceless. They aren't expensive to buy either so i just don't get it. Poor girl, I hope someone finds a heart and gives it back to her.

I wonder if it's worth securing the hutches into the ground with concrete, or branding them in some way?

Me too, and if they had to try and console my little girl and explain why people think its ok to do something like this, then they might not have done it at all.
Its very difficult; she is asking me will the person that stole Penny be loving her and looking after her like she (my daughter) did. She cannot understand that someone that could do such a bad thing to her, and make her 'heart hurt so much' is capable of loving her little Penny. And you know what? Neither can I. Nor can I lie to my daughter and say that its possible. Yet I am having to try.
Its despicable. There is no other word for it. Not that SF will allow me to type, anyway.

Aww misschick, that really is awful. I hope Penny gets home safely, I know its unlikely but have you looked around the shrubbery in the area? Its possible that the person who stole the poor thing didn't want it, and let it go, just taking the cage?

I hope your daughter is okay, its truly awful to hear about things like this. Sorry I cant be of more help!

My best friend moved to a new house with her beloved Guinea Pig of 3 years, Monty. He was happily in his hutch one night when someone came and stole him She was terribly upset, and then, the next night, the thieves came back and stole the hutch and everything else of his too.

I helped make posters and spread the word, but Monty was never found.

AM note

Nasty, horrible, yet supporter of umpteen animal and green charities Assistant Mod steps in.

There is a thread in the Pets section, and it is strictly forbidden to bump a thread, especially every 10 minutes.

I desperately hope little one gets her guinea pig back, but please don't constantly bump. Nobody else can.

Thanks everyone.

Not yet, no.
We have had a mention on Hallam FM, brief but to the point. Still keeping everything crossed, and glad the weekend is almost here cos Keavie is totally worn out. More posters going out today.
Still crossing everything, she HAS to be out there somewhere...
