Does anyone know the latest news regarding the planned development of the old Psalter Lane college site ?

Some months ago, I did hear that there were to be 90+ houses built on the site, but in light of the recent downturn in the housing market, I am somehow doubtful that these will begin to be built.....

Anyone have any news ?

The site appears to still be open, the other day the gates were open and the car park was occupied by several cars...must be being used by someone.....

it's in a prime area, it's been sold off, It's GOT to be being developed for housing.

The site has not yet been handed over to the developers, it is imminent, the last date I heard was October, there is still a lot of equipment to be stripped out as yet, so that date may yet change again. The developers are building houses and flats around the old building (Which is listed), as they would not be complete for several years I dont think the current housing market will have any effect on the plans, with the exception of the scheduling, as we all know most construction firms have put on hold any developments not yet started..

David Wilson Homes whom were to buy Psalter lane site pulled out 2 weeks ago - Sheffield Hallam still own the site and will continue to look after the site - they may start the demolition themselves

thanks for the updates everyone :-)
I was under the impression that David Wilson Homes had already purchased the site ?!
If that info was true then I cant understand how they would be able to back out of the deal ??
It will be a shame if nothing gets built though since without development, the college buildings will undoubtedly start to look derelict :-(

They are building 100+ mainly 3-4 bedroom houses and then with the old art school they are turning it into apartments
Does any body know who the developers are? I need to contact them,
