Hi,

I am seriously considering opening a stall at crystal peaks market which will be at stall 74 in the central isle.

I will be selling branded quality cheap toys, gifts and cheap memory cards and other pc accessories.

I already have a stall in an indoor market elsewhere so I know how it should work.

However I am having second thoughts - i'm wondering how busy the market place gets. Although I have done my own research on this by going in at various times during the day I am still unsure.

Are there any traders from the crystal peaks market place who may be able to give advise?

Any advise from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Stuart

Thanks for that it could be a better option to start than a shop lease.

Hey think it through, do you have enough capital to see you through the first year, the credit crunch has his market traders hard, so think carfully is my advise.

Strange as it might sound, but a lot of market traders are struggling at the moment.

For clothes Primark has a big share of the market for cheap clothes.

But even for perfumes and make-ups, shops like Asda, Boots and M&S are attacking the traditional market traders market by offering cheap gifts packs and big discounts.

Big shops know money is tight so they try and squeeze everyone out of the market, even market traders.

It does sound strange to think that M&S are competing with market traders, but it is true.

Hi does anyone know if the stall holder at market place has to open and close the store at the official market opening hours?I know this thread is old but I thought I'd ask via this post anyway as I am thinking of opening a stall at the market place as well but I won't be able to open the stall 355 days at long hours on my own ( if I have to stick to the advertised opening hours of the market!)

Thanks denomis! Do you have a stall there? The opening hours are so demanding that it doesn't allow small businesses to run a stall with just one person!! Unless the trader is willing to give up all family and social life!!!
