September Photography Competition: Wheels

We've had some fantastic submissions for the photography competition over the past few months, and I hope this month it will continue. The competition is open to ALL members of the Sheffield forum whether you've got a camera phone or the latest professional DSLR so read on...

The theme for September is 'wheels'.

If you wish to submit an entry for the September competition you must register at http://gallery.sunset-studio.co.uk/. Once registered, head to the September Photo Competition album http://gallery.sunset-studio.co.uk/v/Sep08/. Open the side bar, and 'add items'.

Please only upload one image per month. In the previous two months we have had to remove entries from the competition due to duplicate submissions. Although this is a 'bit of fun' we have rules to ensure a level and fair playing field. PLEASE follow these.

Submissions are anonymous to other members, and the only person who can see the members name is myself. Images are automatically resized to 600x600px in order to ensure a fair playing field, and to protect the copyright of your images.

Submissions must be made by the last day of the month. On the first day of the following month a poll will be opened in the Sheffield Photography forum, and will remain open until 14th to allow two weeks of voting. In the event of more than 25 submissions, a system of heats & a final will be used to decide the winner.

All work must be your own, but any member of the Sheffield Forum may enter. We encourage everybody to have a go, and you don't need professional or DSLR equipment to be in with a chance. It's all in the moment.

Why is the one of the black kids disqualified - it was taken at pitsmoor:huh:

It was disqualified because the person who uploaded the photo uploaded more than one photo to that month's competition. It certainly wasn't because there were 'black kids' in it.

Photos from anywhere in the world are welcomed in the competition as long as the person who took the photo is a member of the Sheffield Forum.

Looks like African Nation to me with the dirt tracks and shanty corrugated tin roof building ?

I'll keep my thoughts to myself this month! Hopefully this subject is less likely to provoke the cute kid/cat/dog reaction and we can think about the entries as photographs standing or falling on merit.

Nah... stir it up again

The idea of some well thought out and reasoned criticism is good by me

the picture of the kids on the cycle in August competition that was disqualified was taken in Ghana. In a village called Patriensa. They are private school kids (evidenced by the fact they have shoes!)

what do you win in this competition?

There is no prize.

Just a couple of days left on this one guys... so a bump is needed!
