I've just received this product and cannot get it to work! Trust me, I'm no IT-thicko, I work fairly high up in the industry.
I've got a Panasonic 37" LCD TV which sits on a wall bracket (first problem - given the weight/difficulty of getting it back on the bracket, it's not something I can just whip off the wall).
Anyway, I bought a HDMI lead which goes in the HDMI2 socket at the back of the TV and into the HDMI socket at the back of the DVD unit.
Now, according to the instructions, when first turning on the DVD unit, a 'channel search' should start. It came on once and said 'no channels found' (!)
Now the main problem. When I switch to AV on both/either the TV or DVD a menu appears on the TV screen asking to select input. I choose HDMI2 (I've tried them all) with no success.
The final problem is that, the other day, I put a pre-recorded DVD in and just kept pressing buttons and...the DVD played! Trouble is, I've no idea which combination of buttons I used. So there it is. The unit has worked so the DVD unit ain't broke. Any help appreciated!

Where are you getting the T.V signal from is it satellite /freeview, which socket does this input plug into?

Not knowing exactly how you set it up it's difficult to diagnose the problem.

I assume you have correctly connected the DVD ariel input with the correct 2 flyleads?

If you have then you should the dvd should be able to "find" the channels.
I would recheck your ariel input and output sockets on the DVD recorder again, also check that the fly leads aren't spent, sometimes the leads will degrade enough to the point were only a very poor signal is transmitted alomg them.

As to the DVD set up have you set up the DVD recorder via the DVD SET UP MENU for the output to be HDMI? (Choose options on the remote then SET UP).

I also assume that you haven't connected the DVD recorder to the TV via a scart cable,
connecting a scart cable with a HDMI cable at the same time won't work.

Thanks for the replies!
The only direct connection 'tween DVD player & TV is an HDMI cable as per the diagram in the instructions - no SCART or any of the other cables (RF coaxials) supplied. The HDMI only has one outlet from the DVD and is plugged into the HDMI2 socket at the rear of the TV, again all as per instructions.

I get my signal from Freeview - works perfect on TV. However DVD also has a built-in Freeview box. Could this be causing a conflict?

No shouldn't cause a conflict. I have free view via TV and via DVD recorder and also SKY box, all work fine independent of each other with no conflict.

How are you connecting your aerial though, have you looped it correctly via the DVD recorder ariel input socket?

The aerial is directly into the back of the TV as it was before I got the DVD. I did unplug it and connect it to the DVD but couldn't get a picture on the TV..

But you need to loop it via the input/output sockets on the DVD recorder via coaxial RF leads to make it work on your TV and DVD recorder.

Tip: unplug the HDMI cable (temporarily) and connect your DVD recorder to your TV via SCART connector. This way you can see what's happening via your TV, and will also allow you to configure your DVD recorder output set up via its menu.
Sort this out first, then worry about the HDMI connection.
