Wether you are a single person jetting off to a week in ibiza or a family camping in skegvegas how important are your holidays. Do they save your sanity for the rest of the year, do the provide well needed respite or are you not that bothered and they are more of a hindrence?

What is this 'summer holiday' of which you speak?

Summer holidays are absolutely essential to save your sanity. All the packing, travelling, and unpacking are a pain, but worth all the effort, before Winter comes upon us.

I thought it would be possible to manage until October without a day off and save all my leave for my Australia trip... No chance!! I made myself ill through it!!! Needed a day or two to recharge my batteries and just relax a bit!

I've only had three days off in a row once in the last twelve months, apart from 6 days at Christmas. I work about 6 days a week on average, so normally only get one day a week.

Maybe that's why I feel like I'm cracking up?

I don't have Summer holidays I have Autumn Holidays - I like to get out of this country when its grey and miserable. My holidays are my major outlay during the year - they are, really, the things that identify me, they are my reason for working.

Canadian Rockies and Vancouver - in 4 weeks and counting
