That's quite a respectable image from a phone
The camera was one of main reasons I went for the N95 over other handsets.
How close were you to the bird (Had you not put 'a chaffinch' in your post I don't think I would have risked clicking!)?
Not sure it's a chaffinch, but I'm probably wrong!
maybe a sparrow?

The truth of the matter is that the hapless bird flew into the cafe building and stunned itself flying into a window whilst trying to get out.
I covered the little thing with a coat and took it outside, and coaxed it out of my hand and onto the branch. It just sat there, looking dazed, so I thought I'd take a snap whilst it was collecting its thoughts and before it flew away.
It was gone a few minutes later.

you're right - it's a sparrow.

It's a female Chaffinch, not as brightly colored as the male.

Just goes to show you how having a camera with you all the time, even on a phone can get you great pics.

Nice one! I've taken a lot worse with a 400mm lens!
Other than that I can't contribute much here - call me old fashioned but I use my phone to talk to people!

Why have a phone to talk to people 'I often talk to myself' and find it a lot cheaper than using a camera.
The phone that I have wont take pictures, So I have to resort to talking to my camera,
and when all else fails 'I talk to the trees, but they don't answer me'
.....

I thought if I have to carry a mobile why not have one that takes photos. So I bought a SE K770i phone here are some results of first attempts, almost all have had brightness/contrast tweaked(personal preference).

He's a Border x Paterdale Terrier Yasmin123, so in other words he's a mongrel.
And like I stated in my previous post I do not have a camera phone,
So here is a recent shot of him, that I took using my left ear .. lol
Sorry it's a bit out of focus, but have been meaning to get my ears syringed for a while now.
